COVID-19 Update | July 30, 2020
July 30, 2020
Dear Residents and Family Members,
Since our last update, we have retested all employees and residents in our memory care. In addition, the employees that work in our type B assisted living, located upstairs from our memory care, were also tested. All employee tests are negative and all resident tests, except for our previous resident that tested positive, are negative. Our one positive resident continues to test positive.
We continue to maintain open lines of communication with both Metro Health and Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding our on-going response to the pandemic. We will continue to test our residents and employees in memory care until we have no positive results. Our next round of testing is scheduled for Thursday, August 6. This round of testing is being conducted in partnership with HHS and Omnicare Pharmacy. Testing will include our employees and residents in memory care, type B assisted living (Angelique House), and our type A assisted living (Alphonse House).
The Village continues to take precautions to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus such as body temperature checks of all employees, restricting visitation, enhanced sanitation and cleaning, and health screenings for outside medical personnel coming into the community.
As you all have experienced, the restrictions on visitation have been particularly hard for both residents and families. We continue to encourage family members to communicate regularly through FaceTime/Skype/Zoom, phone calls, and emails. For more information on scheduling a virtual visit, please call the community and ask for Resident Services.
Lastly, independent living residents, if you plan to leave the community for more than 24 hours The Village request that you please notify Resident Services.
Please feel free to call the community with any questions. My extension is 140. You may also ask to speak with Jeanette Eisenmenger, The Village COO (extension 157), or Lynda Jennings, The Village VP of Clinical Services and Compliance (extension 213).
As we know, this virus will continue to challenge us in the months to come, so thank you for your continued cooperation, support and prayers, as we strive to fulfill our mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to all those we serve.
Kindest regards to all,
Paul Harrison
President and CEO
