COVID-19 Updates | November 5, 2020
November 5, 2020
Dear Residents and Family Members,
I pray everyone is doing well. As mentioned in Paul’s most recent letter, The Village at Incarnate Word continues mandated COVID-19 testing of employees and residents in licensed areas.
Alphonse Assisted Living and Independent Living
Yesterday, a resident in Assisted Living Alphonse House tested positive for COVID-19 as well as a caregiver who works in independent living. In light of this, we are extending our semi-quarantine for independent living and Alphonse House assisted living until November 17, 2020.
We will continue testing Alphonse House residents and staff for the next 3 weeks.
All meals are being delivered directly to Alphonse House Assisted Living Residents.
Residents in independent living may go to either the main dining room or bistro and pick-up a meal to-go unless you have made personal arrangements for meal delivery. There will be no dining in the main dining room or bistro during the quarantine.
Times for picking up meals are:
- 6:00 am to 9:00 am for breakfast
- 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for lunch
- 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm dinner
All group activities are suspended, but the Mass can be viewed on channel 1890, and exercise classes and other opportunities are available on channel 1893 on your TV.
Per Texas Health and Human Services rules, family visitation is also suspended. Once the quarantine is over in Alphonse and Independent living, The Village will reapply for visitation approval with HHS.
Angelique Assisted Living
Barring any future positive cases, per Texas Health and Human Services rules, Angelique House assisted living will be out of quarantine Friday, November 6. We are currently reapplying for visitation for Angelique House.
Precautionary, we are retesting residents and staff in Angelique House next Thursday, November 12, 2020.
Residents in all areas of our community
Please be sure to wear a mask each time you exit your apartment, when meals are being delivered, or when someone else comes into your apartment (this includes private attendants, housekeepers, caregivers, concierge, or any other staff member). Masks should cover your nose and mouth. If you need your mask replaced, please contact the front desk.
Please do not visit or congregate with other residents; continue to practice good hand hygiene, washing your hands often, and using alcohol-based hand sanitizers. As always, please maintain at least six feet of social distance between individuals.
Family members, you are also encouraged to notify the community if your loved one is reporting to you that they are not feeling well. You may call the front desk and ask to speak with Concierge and/or Resident Services. Concierge is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Resident Services is available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
We understand the concerns around COVID-19 in our community. Please know that we remain committed to protecting residents and employees, remaining transparent in our communication, and staying connected to residents and families during this time.
Family members, you are vital to your loved ones, please take good care of yourself and let us know if you have any questions, thank you!
