COVID-19 Updates | April 23, 2021
April 23, 2021
Dear Families, Friends, and Residents of The Village at Incarnate Word:
Praised be The Incarnate Word! We are so excited to see visitors back in our community, what a joy you bring.
The Village is expanding visitation effective today, Friday, April 23. Vaccinated residents may have up to four (4) visitors at any one time. Visitation should occur in the resident’s room. The Village is also removing the age restriction that required visitors to be 18 or older. However, all visitors are required to practice the 3 W’s: Wear a properly fitted mask, Wash your hands, and Watch your distance from those other than your loved one while in the community. If a visitor is too young to follow the 3 W’s then he or she is too young to visit indoors. For now, an outdoor visit is best with our youngest visitors that cannot keep a mask on.
All indoor visitors, regardless of age, must be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., temperature checks and questions about COVID-19 signs or symptoms). The Village at Incarnate Word has implemented an automated check-in process utilizing Accushield kiosks. Once checked-in, the kiosk will print a badge that must be worn during your visit. Badges are date and time stamped and may be disposed of when you leave. All visitors must sign-in and sign-out using the kiosk. Anyone not wearing a badge will be asked to return to an entrance kiosk to ensure compliance.
As part of expanding visitation, residents’ family members who have Village access control fobs, or cards, may now use those at the main entrance to DeMatel and Angelique Houses.
At all entrances, when entering the community, please go directly to the Accushield kiosk:
- Tap ‘Sign in’
- Tap Family/Guests
- Enter your phone number
- Answer COVID-19 questions
- Enter the resident’s last name that you are visiting
Our receptionist can help you with the process.
All family visitors, essential caregivers, vendors, and volunteers are required to follow this process. Resident family members who do know have an access control fob or card may request one from Alma Cosme. Please call her at extension 114 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Expanding visitation is a work in progress. If you attempt to sign-in to the kiosk and cannot, please inform a staff member.
