LEARN HOW YOU CAN HELP

Our Mission

The Village at Incarnate Word is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit retirement community with a mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to all those we serve.

In 1988, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word founded The Village at Incarnate Word to provide housing and assistance for local older adults, including many retired CCVI Sisters. Our community provides a full continuum of care for our residents, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Memory Care. In addition to our residential community of over 250 older adults, we are proud to serve dozens of local older adults through Sisters Care In-Home Care.

Why Donate?

Donations support our charitable efforts, serving hundreds of local older adults here at our retirement community and in homes throughout San Antonio. Our charitable efforts include ministries like the CCVI Legacy Fund, Project Elder Help, and Spiritual Life at The Village.

Ways to Give

Your gift can be designated to the ministry of your choice, depending on your personal and philanthropic interests. Donations can also be made in memory or in honor of a family member, friend, or loved one who had a special connection to The Village. If you would like to discuss giving options including planned giving and in-kind donations, please contact us for more information.

Thank you for considering making a gift to The Village at Incarnate Word and joining our cause to serve older adults with dignity, respect, and compassion.

CCVI Legacy Fund

The CCVI Legacy Fund is a charitable rent assistance program designed to provide aid to current TVIW residents who encounter financial difficulties and become unable to pay. Donor support provides crucial housing security to older adults, including Catholic religious life members who have professed vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience.

Project Elder Help

TVIW’s in-home personal care assistance agency, Sisters Care, provides life-enriching, individualized services for older adults. Whether the goal is to maintain independence and age-in-place at home or give respite to families caring for their loved ones, Project Elder Help offers financial assistance on a sliding scale basis to qualified clients who could not otherwise afford care. Charitable contributions enable TVIW to serve low-income adults throughout Bexar County. Beneficiaries require daily assistance with personal care, homemaking, transportation, and companionship. Regardless of financial situation, everyone deserves comprehensive, compassionate, and supportive care.

Spiritual Life

Our spiritual environment includes daily Mass and Adoration, weekly Bible study, and interfaith groups. TVIW maintains four places of worship: St. Joseph’s, Adoration, DeMatel, and Angelique Chapels. The Village at Incarnate Word offers holistic opportunities for residents to enhance their lives, strengthen and improve physical health, maintain / expand intellectual abilities and mental acuity, friendships to maintain and support emotional health, and spiritual enrichment to deepen community members’ relationship with God.

In Memory/In Honor

When we lose a loved one, it can be extremely difficult to find the right way to express our condolences and grief. Memorial donations are a thoughtful and impactful way to remember and pay tribute to an individual’s legacy.

Your gift may recognize your loved one’s personal connection to TVIW or strive to continue their care and support TVIW’s community and charitable work posthumously.

The Village cherishes memorial gifts, especially those made in memory of former residents, staff, or TVIW friends. At the donor’s request, TVIW staff is happy to send acknowledgment of your gift to family or friends of the deceased. If you would like an acknowledgment to be sent, please be sure to include the family’s contact information and any special instructions when making your donation.

Would you like to honor a TVIW staff member who has given you or your loved one exceptional care? Would you like to honor a friend or family member who resides at TVIW? Would you like to commemorate a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, or anniversary?

In honor gifts are a thoughtful way to say thank you, show someone you care, or pay it forward for a good cause that both you and your honoree care about!

At the donor’s request, TVIW staff is happy to send acknowledgment of your gift to the honoree, excluding the gift amount. If you would like an acknowledgment to be sent, please be sure to include the honoree’s contact information and any special instructions when making your donation.

How will you be remembered?

Planned gifts ensure your legacy and blessings will be shared with the TVIW community even after you are gone. There are many ways to plan your legacy giving through your will, estate, trust, or other methods.

Making a planned gift to The Village at Incarnate Word is an important decision and one that reflects your support for our mission and values, as well as your personal charitable goals. If you are considering making a planned gift, we encourage you to reach out to The Village at Incarnate Word and your attorney to determine the planned giving option that is right for you.
